ABOUT US

The OMID Foundation was founded in 2021 to help the Afghan people affected by humanitarian crisis, including climate crisis, to survive, recover and rebuild their lives through sustainable programs. We provide assistance to Afghans in the areas of healthcare, education, economic well-being and empowerment.

HOW WE WORK

From our foundation, we believe that the most effective and efficient humanitarian aid is provided by people who know the region and its people. Our foundation is founded by Afghans for Afghans. That’s why we partner with local and community-based organizations. Our support goes beyond financing projects and programs. We listen to our partners, learn from their experiences, and leverage the knowledge we’ve gathered from other partner organizations.

Our aid goes beyond humanitarian assistance in times of need. We serve, work, respond, and empower the local population in their growth so that they can become self-sufficient. By collaborating and pooling our strengths, we believe communities become stronger and more resilient to future crises and conflicts. Help us build a better future.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our support focuses on the Afghan people, on refugees and returnees. We provide aid regardless of religion, political views, ethnicity, nationality, gender and sexual orientation.

MISSION

The OMID Foundation provides humanitarian and life-saving assistance to people affected by years of conflict, violence, or climate disasters in the areas of healthcare, education, economic well-being, and empowerment. In extension of this, we also support them in finding structural and sustainable solutions so they can build a better future independently. Our aid primarily focuses on the local population, refugees and returnees. We provide assistance regardless of religious beliefs, political views, ethnicity, nationality, gender, and sexual orientation.

VISION

The OMID Foundation fulfills its mission by providing emergency aid to Afghan people who have become victims of conflict, violence, and climate disasters — as well as to refugees and returnees. We are impartial and independent, offering aid based on needs and available capacity. We pay particular attention to the most vulnerable families in society, single mothers with children, refugees, and returnees who receive little attention.

We collaborate with carefully selected organizations. In the coming years, we will focus more on livelihood, healthcare, economic well-being, local capacity building, and women’s empowerment. Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, we contribute to a better future for Afghans, both within and outside Afghanistan.
