During the Holy month of Ramadan in 2022, we launched our Ramadan Project to give extra attention to the most vulnerable in the society of Kabul. The project focused on providing food packages and essential supplies to help those in dire need get through the blessed month. With the support of generous donors, we were able to assist nearly 200 families, mostly single mothers with children, ensuring that they could observe Ramadan in peace and comfort during a time of reflection and giving.
One year after the fall of Kabul, in August 2022, we launched The Kabul Project to continue supporting those affected by the ongoing crises together with the support of our partner The Gulzad Foundation. Through the generosity of our donors, we raised nearly €15,000 to provide critical aid to those in need. This project included distributing food packages to 50 families, providing cash assistance to another 50 families, and supplying 100 orphans with school supplies. Additionally, 1000 loaves of bread were distributed across various locations in Kabul to help alleviate food insecurity.
On Sunday, 25th of September 2022, we hosted a Charity Padel Tournament at L’OEUF & TOC in Capelle a/d IJssel (NL) to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. The event not only marked this important milestone but also provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about our foundation and meet our board members. The full proceeds from the event were donated to the foundation, supporting our ongoing projects. It was a great day, filled with familiar faces and NGO representatives dedicated to making a difference for Afghanistan.
After the success of our Winter Appeal in 2021, we decided in 2022 to make it an annual part of our project agenda. During the 2022 Winter Appeal, our goal was to assist the most vulnerable families in Kabul areas by providing cash assistance and firewood to help them survive the harsh winter months. In just under four weeks, we raised nearly €14,000, enabling us to support 150 families in Kabul. This initiative provided critical relief to those facing extreme conditions during one of the coldest seasons.
